Holiday Magic for Everyone:
Step into a festive winter wonderland where twinkling lights, joyful music, and scale model trains create unforgettable memories. Our holiday rides are perfect for kids, families, friends, and train enthusiasts, capturing the magic of the season for all ages.
Train Rides:
Approximately 20 minutes for the 1.5-mile journey to the North Pole and back
Glide through a sparkling holiday wonderland featuring our 50-foot Mega Tree, upgraded this year with 16,000 pixels!
Santa will be there for photos, making the experience even more magical for kids and families.
No tickets are needed — just come!
Become a Junior Engineer!
Kids of all ages can participate in Junior Engineer School, where they get to operate a train themselves — a rare, hands-on locomotive experience.

Fridays and Saturdays during December 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM:

December 26 & 27Please dress warmly, as the park is cooler than the surrounding areas after dark.
Donations:
Train rides are free!
Suggested minimum donation: $5 per rider. Your generous donations help keep our railroad running for everyone to enjoy.
Guest Information:
Guests of all ages must be able to walk to and board the train without assistance.
We accommodate baby swap: inform the greeter at the ride gate. After your ride, one person from your group can ride with the baby while the rest of the family boards. Let the greeter or station master know, and they will seat you in the next available two seats.
Hot cocoa will also be available to keep you warm and cozy.
Important Notice:
The Maricopa Park District requires submission of a General Liability Waiver from each individual entering the park. Please complete the “Smart Waiver” form ahead of time for each member of your party or share with your guests. We are unable to admit anyone without the required signed form. Parents or guardian that do not accompany their child, must complete the online waiver and inform the supervising adult of any group that the waiver has been completed with their child’s name.

Junior Engineer School
Shelby’s Junior Engineer School is for children of all ages to learn to operate a train. Speed is limited to 2mph allowing children and adults to operate safely.
Public Rides
Free rides on different 20-40 minute routes are offered every Sunday between 11 am and 2 pm from October through April. The last train leaves the station at 2:00 p.m.

Safety Information for riding the train:
- All passengers (including children) must be able to walk to and board the train without assistance.
- Please do not use the cars with folding seats. These are reserved for passengers with mobility limitations.
- Remain seated during your ride.
- Do not lean out while taking pictures.
- Do not reach out and touch objects along the tracks, they may be sharp.
- Do not turn around in your seat, face forward.
- Keep your feet on the foot-boards. Do not drag your feet.
- Children must sit on a seat of their own. They may not sit on a lap.
- If the train stops outside the station, remain seated and listen for a crew members instructions.
- If you drop anything along the track, just keep your hand raised and the crew will stop the train (during daylight rides).
- When returning to the station, remain seated until the engineer honks the horn once signaling it is safe to exit the train.
