A letter from Jim Brown

To the members of MLS At a meeting earlier in the year it was voted on by both the board and the general membership to charge a registration fee for this years fall meet.  If I remember correctly there was no opposition at all to this idea.  The logic being that all are meets would be the same. I believe that this club owes both Betty Moore and Stephanie Marks a very big APOLOGY  and a very big THANK YOU for all the work they have put in on this meet.  Their have been members of this club that have made a big issue out of this and some have even personally attacked Betty and Stephanie  both in person and in some not so pleasant e mails.  IT WAS THE CLUBS VOTE NOT THEIRS THAT PUT IN THE FEE.  I strongly believe that if you do not show up for the meetings when these items are voted on, then you have given up your right to complain.  There are times that you can not make a meeting and that is understandable, there is a proper way to bring up a item that you may not agree with.  But to verbally attack members for the vote of the whole club is wrong and totally unacceptable in my eyes.  Once again I would like to Apologize on behalf of the club to Betty and Stephanie, and thank you for all the hard work that you both have done.
